The Sacramento Kings have agreed to trade their three-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans. Cousins was averaging 27.8 points and 10.6 rebounds.
The Kings will receive rookie guard Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Halloway, a 2017 first-round pick, and a 2017 second-rounder. Cousins’ reaction to the trade says it all.

The news of this trade may have even shocked Cousins since both he and his agents assured everyone that it wouldn’t happen just days before the deal. Cousins will now become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2017-2018 season. He’ll be able to feel out his new team and could sign on for a lucrative extension, or move on.
With the trade the Pelicans managed to land the most talented post player in the league and with Anthony Davis, their games could only get better. Davis will finally get a scoring partner he needs to finally break through in the Western Conference.
